What is OWH?

OWH or Operation Write Home is a cool reason to make some cards just because.  The organization takes the cards that people all over make by hand, mix them into boxes going to different units, and then send them to our deployed military in all locations so they will have some cool cards to send home to their families.  What's amazing is that this began as a few cards sent by some card making hobbyists. As of 9/20/10 they have now sent a whopping 561,307 cards to our military!  

I learned about this the other day when I saw a post at the Eclectic Paperie Blog and thought it would be fun to join in and make some cards that the men and women who are deployed can use to write home. This is what I made to send off.

Here's the cool thing....I showed a friend and now she wants to make some too.  We plan to make some Christmas cards.  OWH, it's contagious....in a good way!
